Two men playing golf at Harburn

Sporting Activities

From dawn to dusk there’s plenty to keep you active outdoors at Harburn. Take a walk on the wild side to spot the several species of deer, owls, birds of prey, badgers, otters and a profusion of waterfowl. There’s also off-road driving, treasure hunts, archery, clay pigeon shooting and cycling. Again, the list is endless. Golfers often stay for a week or more enjoying Scotland’s championship courses, all within easy reach of Harburn. In the evening why not have a reel party? Or simply gather round a crackling log fire after a delicious dinner and listen to a traditional Scottish storyteller.

Shooting

Harburn is home to one of the most spectacular sporting estates in Scotland. A passionate sportsman himself Humphrey Spurway has created varied exciting driven days. Shoot partridges from sunken butts on the moor as well as mixed bags of high flying birds. There’s red and roe deer stalking and the outstanding rough shooting of both flighted and ground game. A collection of different lochs await the fly fisherman’s cast from boat or bank. And at any time or place, we’ll deliver picnics or nourishing hot lunches. Because as always at Harburn you call the shots.
